What if Christmas doesn't come from a store

The Grinch knew what he was taking about. The inside of this cards says "What if Christmas means a little bit more".  This sentiment is from an older stamp, but I thought it went well with the stocking images that come on the Pear & Partridge rub-ons.

Book Review:Flowers from the Storm

This was a wonderful story!

The Duke of Jervaulx was brilliant and dangerous. Considered dissolute, reckless, and extravagant, he was transparently referred to as the ′D of J′ in scandal sheets, where he and his various exploits featured with frequency. But sometimes the most womanizing rake can be irresistible, and even his most casual attentions fascinated the sheltered Maddy Timms, quiet daughter of a simple mathematician.

The Duke in this story has what we now call a stroke, but long ago stroke victims were thought crazy. The Duke ends up in an insane asylum for a short time. The author does a really great job letting us know how the duke feels, but because of the stroke he cant speak well. Maddy sees this and saves him. Not only does she save him for the insane asylum but she also saves him from his self.   The story has a nice twist at the end and I really was caught up in this story and didn't expect it! This was a real page turner and I highly recommend it!

Holiday lists

For this years Holiday Planner I decided to go with something more simple and plain.  My idea is that I can use this note pad past Christmas and on into the winter. I used the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut the stamp frame and the cute snowmen stamp.
The inside is very plain, just some pattern paper over the notepad label.

Book Review:Into the Wilderness

I really, really enjoyed this book. It was one that I couldn't put down! If you like the Outlander Series, then I think you will enjoy this one as well. Into the Wilderness is adventure and love together. Elizabeth Middleton, "twenty-nine years old and unmarried, overly educated and excessively rational" has journeyed with her brother from England to upstate New York in 1792 to live with her widowed father, a judge who owns a large tract of land he has named Paradise. Spinster Elizabeth dreams not of true love, but of starting a school to teach the white, black and Indian children who live in Paradise.  Elizabeth meets several charismatic men. Dan'l "Hawkeye" Bonner is now an elderly widower, his beloved Cora having died recently. Nathaniel, was married to a Mohican woman for several years before she died in childbirth, and several of Nathaniel's in-laws live with the men. Elizabeth also meets Richard Todd, a well-respected physician. Elizabeth soon finds herself in the middle of a situation she has not caused, but one she can directly impact. Richard wants to own the mountain that the judge owns and Nathaniel and Hawkeye live on. The judge fears Hawkeye and Nathaniel as owners and he wants to  give the property to Elizabeth if she promises to marry Richard.

Things become very intresting from there! I highly recomend this book.
I know that there are several after this, I did read a summery of the next book and I haven't decided if I will read on. I like how this one ended and I am not so sure I want to read on when it says that the 2 main characters are not together for most of the book.
*I love Jamie and Claire from the Outlander series, but I have anxiety when they are not together*

A trio of Tags

One thing I have been wanting to practice on the cricut is the "center point" feature. I figured some simple tags would be the best way to start learning. Now you can tell on my first one, the snowflake tag, it is not quite center. After I cut that one I learned that it's best for me to measure an make a small pencil mark so I know where to line up my blade. Some of you might be able to eyeball it, but I am just not that good.

Mitten treat holder

This sweet little mitten ornament went out to my team this month! I have said it before, mass production is so easy with the Artiste Cricut Cartridge! For this project I created a pocket by cutting 2 mittens and gluing them together. My 1st plan was to sew them, I quickly learned that my sewing skills were not that great on curves. I nixed that idea and with glue and a faux stitch using my piercing tool. How would you like to win a Cricut Artiste Cartridge? Simply place an order on my website using the "I want to WIN" party and your entered!!

Halloween Party using CTMH Spellbound

October already? It's hard for me to believe that's here so soon. It seem that not very long ago it was the New Year. Since October is here already it's time to think about Halloween Parties- Have I got a deal for you! For all of these Projects I used ONE kit from CTMH-yes you read that correctly ONE kit!
I used the Spellbound Workshop on the Go Kit--before I move on I want to tell you that if you order the Spellbound kit in the Month of October you earn 1 extra entry into the "October I Want to Win" for the Artiste Cricut Cartridge.
Now I want to tell you about the extras that I did- I made at least 1 of the each item just as the directions in the Spellbound kit said. For the others I decided to dress it up a bit and add a little flair to the item. You can see in the next few pics that I chose to dress up the cupcake wrappers with some glitter and extra layers. I also used some sparkle trim as well.

The stamp set included has some great labels, so I used them to make some treat wrappers for some rice crispy treats.
NOTE*** These labels on the sucker sticks don't come in the kit. I used the stamp set Magic Potion in my attempt to put a cute table together I forgot these were from another stamp set.

Take a look at these treat boxes-- I made the ones per the directions, and then I made additional ones with a few special embellishments
This pumpkin box I added a stem and leaves-all cut free hand!

Head over to my website and purchase your very own Spellbound kit. Be sure to use the "I want to win" link that way you can win your very own Artiste Cricut Cartridge.
