A tip for you

As you know I recently re-orginized and painted the scraproom. One of the things that changed was how I stored my re-inker bottles. Before they laid flat in a drawing and I could see the labels to tell me what color it was. In the new drawer they stand up, so I would have to pick up every bottle to find the color I was looking for. I came up with this idea to help find the color I was looking for quicker. I used a hole punch to punch a small circle of matching cardstock and then glued the small circle to the top of the bottle lid using liquid glass. Now with one look I can find the color that I need.

Canvas Flower

After I finished painting the scraproom, I was folding up the canvas tarp that I used to protect the floor, when I all of a sudden thought I could use a piece of that canvas to make something! I cut off a piece of the clear area and went to town cutting some flower shapes with die cuts. ~~~I big giant puffy {heart} that bird cage, it will be showing up in lots of projects, consider this you warning!!!

Birthday Tag and Ticket

I finally have caught up on all the things that *had* to be done, now I have time to just play! I have tons of things pulled out in my inspiration trey and right on top are some tags. I like how the tag kind of gives this bright paper pack (Sophia) a vintage look. I also used a ticket die cut and stamp from Papertrey ink to finish off the card.

Banner Questions

My email has been flooded with questions about the banner. Instead of emails I thought I would answer them here. 1. I used tombow adhesive for this project 2. The chipboard letters are glittered and then covered with a thick layer of liquid glass 3. The fuzzy red stuff is felt, the swirls, hearts, etch are from older CTMH felt. 4. I inked with tulip ink. 5. That little sentiment is from the sweetheart workshop on the go stamp. 6. The center of the red flower is a button and pearl from CTMH. 7. Those are real tickets from a roll I have to use at my open houses. I think that is all, please let me know if I missed yours.

Etsy store update and a book review

I have spent the better part of the afternoon doing some house keeping, not only here in the scraproom, but on my etsy store. I had seveal things in a pile that needed to be added for sale.
Please go by and take a look. You can find a link in the side bar-------------->

I finished this book a while back, but just now remembered that I hadn't posted about it. For those of you who don't know about the Pioneer Woman, I urge you to check her out. Not only is she a great photographer, but she is an awesome cook and just down right funny!
Most of this story is free on her blog, but when she decided to write the book she added some to the story.
She talks about how she met her husband, the engagement and wedding. The story continues on there honeymoon, which is less than smooth! Then she goes through the 1st pregnancy and birth of their first child.
I enjoyed the book greatly, she has a great style of telling story!

For baby Lauren!

This is for my friend for a her new baby's room. Baby Lauren. Baby Lauren is not suppose to be here till June, but over the weekend thought about coming early!! Luckily the contractions were stopped and mommy is on bed rest. I thought I better get in gear and make this in case she does come early. Lauren is lucky she has twin older brothers to look after her, but I know that mommy is really happy to see some pink in the house!!
I love this so much I almost want to keep it for myself-wonder if I could just change my name to Lauren? or maybe I could start calling Dixie dog Lauren instead!!

Circle cards

I have been using the new CTMH paper pack Bliss, although its not my favorite, it is starting to grow on me. One thing I have done that is really helping is adding a bright or bold color to the muted pattern paper. You can see that here with the paper flowers.
This card was inspired by this card on Jeanette Lyntons blog.

I love you sew much!

For the past few days I have been stuck in glitter mode-I have been adding it to everything. Here you can see I added it to the dress form details and to the pins in the cushion. In person they look like glass beaded pins.
(You can also see a more of my new wall color!)

It's done...I think!

I spent the weekend painting my craftroom. I think I have finally got it just the way that I want! For now anyways. You can see more pictures of it here and here.
The new color is Bay Mist.
I re-arranged a few things and added a few more. Including this art cord (that seems to be sagging a little now, I will have to see about that) I love how it looks like a little clothes line with cards. (the cord came from Ikea, and was really easy to install)

I do want to get some pictures to hang on the wall, but I hadn't found anything yet that I want to look at all the time.

Tea Time

When I first got my hands on a CTMH 2011 catalog one of the stamp set I fell in love with was this Tea Time stamp. Sadly it has not had any ink on it till now. I love the tea pot images in the stamp and they go well with the new Bliss Paper Line.

gratitude list

The Lucky Workshop on the Go stamp set has this really great sentiment "gratitude list". I made a small notebook to keep all the things I am thankful full. Oh, and look at those wooden buttons!! So wonderful!

The Bandanna technique. You can see a really great video here on how to create this fun back ground. I included a fun addition, white pearl paint.

Get well tea gift

I "cased" this project from this blog.
I used some envelopes that I cut with the cricut and the sentimental cartridge to create the short sides. I think this project would also be great with one of those cup of soups as well.

Clear bicycle card

I have always wanted a cute little bicycle with a basket on the front! I used water color pencils to color the bike. I added a flower and brad to make it "girly"

Scrabble tiles

Is anyone else addicted to Words with Friends on the iPhone? I play all the time, in fact I wake up in the night when I hear my phone go off and play!! Right after Valentines Day I bought a Valentines day card kit on clearance that had Scrabble pieces in it. I think they look so good with the craft boards from CTMH.

Lucky Tic Tac Toe

By accident I came up with using the clovers on the tic tac toe game. While working on a few projects at a time the clover stamp landed on the tic tac toe game and gave me a great idea!

Pencil Treat

I am sure that most kiddos would like to have candy treats, but this year they are getting pencils. This little gift is inspired by the ones I did at Halloween. You can find all the details here.

Lucky clover

I used the spray pen mixed with green ink and paint. The green is super sparkly, but doesn't show well in the picture. I cut the cute clover on my cricut.

Clovers

I have a few more St. Patricks Day cards to show you. Both of these feature clovers. The 1st one I used heart stamps to create the clover.
For this one, I got really creative with felt. I used a green flower shape and a piece of a bracket.
Always look at your shapes and see what you can create.

Things I am loving...

A few of my favorite things for right now-this cup, I picked it up at Bed Bath and Beyond. The reason I love it is that it doesn't sweat, there for I can leave it on my work area and not worry about getting my projects wet.
I recently made a trip to Dallas/Frisco area and visited Sam Moon. I always enjoy this store, but here is a word to the wise, going during the week-avoid weekends at all cost! I have been on a Saturday before and you can't stir the people with a stick. I have really been into broaches, especially cameos. I picked up several in many colors (they are costume and only cost between 5 and 10 bucks each, but they are really cute!

Next up-this root booster. My hair dresser sold it to me, and it the 1st product that I think really works. While my hair is still damp I add a few sprays to my "bump" on the back of my head and it helps hold all day.
I just photographed several project, and I hope to get them edited this weekend and be back to regular posts. The last few weeks I have felt really behind in everything and my plate was over full. But I think all of that is behind me!

Sweet little bunny

One of the new products from CTMH this season is these canvas buttons. How cool is it that you can stamp an image on the button and create a one of a kind embellishment. For this one I used the March Stamp of the Month with all the little bunnies on it.
