Do me a favor-while you read this post watch my video for the Close to My heart Clearly the best contest. (Just turn the volume to mute and finish reading.....that way you don't have to listen to my silly voice.)

Well we have been snowed/iced in for the weekend again. (I can get so much done when I can't go any where!)

I told you before that I was really inspired by the magazine Card Creations Start to Finish. This set of cards was inspired by a card in this issue on page 14.

I wrapped a set of 4 cards and envelopes with a lovely ribbon and finished them off with a twig from a tree.

I will be loading these sets of cards in my etsy store. Just look to the right side of my post and there is a link to the store. Or you can click here

A Great Set of Cards

Hello Blog Friends!!

I am winding down for the weekend, sitting on the couch having a glass of wine and waiting for Desperate Housewives to come on.

I had such a productive weekend-I worked on and finished so many projects. I finished up 3 mini albums, 2 sets of scrapbook layouts and filmed a video! (putting the finishing touches on that and you will see it soon!)

On to the project-

I had a little inspiration-from Card Creations Start to Finish (page 9). If you don't have this one, I highly recommend it, the issue is full of great ideas.
My inspiration card is pictured here.

I made a set of 3 cards -A Thank you, Happy Birthday and Thinking of you. All 3 cards fit inside a glassine bag and closed with a clothes pin. The bag and clothes pin are inspired by one of my favorite bloggers Michelle Wooderson.

Here is a list of supplies from Close to My Heart-
Sunflower Textured Cardstock
Animal Cookie Level 2 paper collection
Animal Cookie creative basics paper collection
Holiday red brad
crotchet flower
sanding kit
dutch blue ink
Dainty thoughts stamp set
Comments stamp set
Confidential stamp set
Holiday red button

A few other supplies involved-
clothes pin
red ribbon
scallop punch
glassine bag
corner rounder

I really love this tag! I used the lined stamp from the comment collection stamped on the bottom. All closed up with a decorated clothes pin
I used a the negative of a circle for a mask to stamp the lines. Add a special sentiment and now it's a great finish (or start) to the gift.
I will have these loaded up in my Etsy store soon- you can visit it by clicking the images on the right side menu bar or going to this site.

Have a wonderful week!

On a final note--

I should be rooting for Texas-A big 12 team, but as a die hard Texas Tech fan I have a real hard time rooting for UT.

So..... LET's GO TIDE!!!

Way too much work for...

an envelope. Sometimes I have project ideas in my head, but they don't come out the way I had planed. Sometimes they are better others..... well let me explain.
I had this piece of fabric laying around for a while, and I really kept thinking I will use that for some thing great. The envelope in my mind was more of a fabric card keeper, meant to hold 4 or 5 cards and some envelopes. After poor planning, poor measuring and re-working it, it turned out to be an "over-the-top" envelope for just one card.
That is all that would fit, one card.

Supplies for the card- from Close to my heart:
Cocoa Cardstock
Twilight Cardstock
Felicity pattern paper
Twilight ink
Cocoa ink
Desert sand ink
clear sparkles
foam tape
Code it stamp set
Love Struck stamp set

Supplies for the envelope from Close to my Heart:
White Just blooms flower
Twilight fabric brad
Cocoa ink
Twilight Label holder
Cocoa brads
Code it stamp set
in addition:

Even more poor planning lead to having raw fabric edges on the outside. If you run into this problem yourself, use my solution-trim the edges with pinking sheers.
