Tea For Two (GSS Honorable Mention)

My obsession with tea grows.

I made this cute little Tea for Two Kit to submit to the Guest Star Stamper monthly contest at Papertrey Ink. Yesterday Nicole featured my project on her blog for Honorable mention! You can see that here. I think she really liked my frog tea infuser the most. I used one of the templates from Papertrey Ink to make the hold. As a template creator, I really like these, because you just put your cardstock in the printer and the fold and score lines print right on it.

CPS sketch and a Big Thank You!

This is my card for this week's sketch over at CPS. A few weeks ago I won a prize on the CPS blog. I received a big package of goodies in the mail one day. In it was these sheets of cut out felt in a few different colors. I have really been into felt these days, so I had to give it a try. It was easy to cut and had a sticky back, a plus for felt since it is hard to glue down at times.
Supplies from CTMH-Hollyhock CS, White Daisy CS, Garden Green CS, Hollyhock ribbon, hollyhock brads, blush ink, garden green ink, Ambiance stamp set

I was given a Blog Award, by Tresa, Lori, Allison, Mindy and Tammy
and I feel so honored. Thank you ladies, so very much. I am making my list of bloggers to pass the award on to.

Color Chef Challenge

I discovered last week that I had 3 packages of glossy cardstock from CTMH. I decided I need to use some of that up.
For the background I used some sweetleaf re-inker drops between two sheets of wax paper, then "moved" move the ink around with my fingers to get a pattern. Lastly I laid a piece of the glossy cardstock between the two sheets and rubbed it with the brayer.
This is my card for Color chef Challenge over at KJ's Stamp pad.

Color Me Monday

This is my is my attempt at this weeks Color Me Monday challenge. I started several card, and they end up in the trash. I think it was the blue that was throwing me off. My thread is a slightly different color blue, but it matched fairly well.
For the flower, I used clear embossing powder and then rubbed over the image with sorbet and taffy ink using a sponge.

More Circle Cards

A few months ago I came across a few of these Circle DVD tins with a clear top. Of course I ordered them, and then quickly forgot I had them. When the CTMH Wishes book came out I all of a sudden knew what to do with those DVD tins.
For the tree branch on the front of the DVD tin I stamped right on the clear part and then used Olive embossing powder on it.
The card is Wishes pattern inner court.
ETA: the dvd tins are from http://www.american-digital.com/

Color Chef Challenge #6

This is my card for this weeks Color chef Challenge over at KJ's Stamp Pad. I really think the popularity of circle cards is growing! Last week one of my many projects involved a set of bird circle cards that you will see soon. For this card, the front flap of the card is the plaid part, the small circles are attached to the back. I was going to use white faux stitching, but my white gel pen was dried up, so I went for the black.

Color Me Monday

The CEO of Close to My Heart, Jeanette Lynton , has started a Monday Color challenge. Last week was the 1st one. This week she picked a wonderful group of colors. I really enjoy color challenges, and I think they are my favorite thing about blogging. I made this really cute bird house that can hold candy or a small gift. I found the template here.

Here you can see the perch that I created by rolling a 3/4" strip of cardstock and then attaching it with a glue dot.
I also used removable glue dots to attach one side of the roof, so I can add a little treat later.

Spring Fling Challenge

Over at Nichole Heady's Blog is the Sr. Design Teams Spring Fling Challenge. This is my card for her challenge. I soon as I saw the image chosen by Becky, I fell in love with the colors. I knew that I wanted to use that spotted pillow as my inspiration.
Since I have been so Tea obsessed lately I bought myself the Papertrey Tea for Two set. I haven't had time to use it until now.
I really wanted my tea pot image to have a think glossy look like a real tea pot, but it doesn't show well in the picture. I used clear embossing powder to give the pot a glossy effect, and I layered the powder about 5 times to get it thick.

Supplies from CTMH-Black CS, White Daisy CS, Buttercup CS, Black ink, Tulip ink, buttercup ink, Olive ink, Olive ribbon, Clear embossing powder, Tickled pink stamp set.
Other-Tea for Two stamp set from Papertrey ink, Take a bough stamp set
Today is National Scrapbook Day, and I am spending the day with good friend doing just that! I hope you are scrapbooking as well! Happy Scrapbook Day and Have a great weekend--
